The department is responsible for protecting all market premises and property of the Market Committee, managing traffic, taking precautions to prevent theft and other inappropriate activities, etc. The department is headed by the Chief Security Officer and the department is supervised by two security officers and 45 watchmen of the Market Committee and 237 security guards from the Security Guard Board.
